Summer Atlanta 2010

Everyone is watching the World Cup this summer, but don’t forget all the fun you could have in between soccer matches. There could be a world of fun just a few minutes away with popular venues located just in the heart of the city.

The City Pass is an awesome way to visit major Georgia parks including: The Georgia Aquarium, The World of Coca-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, and Tour the CNN Studio, just to name a few. There are no black-out dates and you don’t have to wait in line to purchase tickets. You walk right up to the entrance, flash your City Pass, and you’re in! All these parks and much more for the family friendly price of $74 per Adult and $54 per child ages 3-12. With the entrance to each attraction averaging about $25, this is an amazing savings! Take a week to be an Atlanta Tourist and purchase the City Pass at www.citypass.com/atlanta.

For the tinier tots in the family (eight & under), Imagine it! The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is perfect. It’s a combination of fun-filled interactive and educational games that will keep your little ones safe and busy. What more could a mom ask for! They will have an exciting day with hands on exhibits that will entice their imagination through discovery. And now every second Tuesday of the month, Target sponsors free admission tickets at the museum starting at 1pm. I recommend arriving early because the lines do get long. The tickets are on a first come first serve basis and during the June and July months, the Target Sponsored Second Tuesdays will be open until 8p.m. Visit their website: www.childrensmuseumatlanta.org for general admission and regular hours.

Atlantic Station’s Movies & the Market will return on July 1st. Every Thursday night from 6-9p.m. will feature an “Oldie but Goodie” family film. Bring everybody! It’s a free event for the entire family to enjoy and local restaurants are on board to include Movie Meal Deals. Visit www.atlanticstation.com/events to see this week’s feature.

Six Flags, the Atlanta Braves, and Stone Mountain Park have joined forces, along with other partners, to bring you MVP tickets. Visit Six Flags over Georgia’s official website: www.sixflags.com/overgeorgia/tickets and click on MVP (Most Valuable Package). Try the Double play package that includes a day at Six Flags and a ticket to an Atlanta Braves home game for $36. Visit www.mlb.com for Atlanta Braves future home games schedule for this summer.

Or you can throw in a day at Stone Mountain Park with the Triple Play for $56 a person. “Summer at the Rock” at Stone Mountain Park  is the attraction that revamped Stone Mountain Park just some years ago to include more all day activities for the whole family which include a 4-D experience Journey to the Center of the Earth, friendly animal encounters, and fun story-telling for all ages. New this summer is “Ritmo at the Rock”. A live performance both educational and entertaining featuring 100 instruments gathered from all over the world. This international ensemble is excellent family entertainment. Not to mention nights at Stone Mountain with their classic Laser Show Spectacular with fireworks presentation done nightly throughout the summer. And Six Flags over Georgia is always at the top of summer to do lists, but now that it’s gathered in a fun summer package, six flags are more fun!
